Hydraulics electronic control system

Along with BELAZ specialists we have completed tests of our new control system for a serial shaft hydromechanical transmission BELAZ for mining dump trucks with a lifting capacity of 45, 55 and 60 tons.

The new system is implemented on proportional electromagnets with feedback control over the sliding speed of friction clutch disks. A new hydraulic control mechanism and a main pressure regulator are developed by STRIM and installed on the serial shaft HMT.

The pressure regulation mechanism with proportional electromagnets made it possible to get smooth and continuous gear shifting. Continuous shifting, in turn, increased the average speed and fuel efficiency of the car within 2-4%, and the achieved smoothness of switching is comparable to the smoothness of switching on modern passenger cars with automatic transmissions.

The new main pressure regulator allows the required pressure levels to be set depending on the operating mode of the machine. This increases the life of the friction clutches.

For the electronic control system, a new custom electronic control module STRIM MI-07.20 was developed and manufactured in a sealed case with an IP67 connector protection.

The MI-07.20 module controls over the electromagnets of the hydraulic mechanism and the main pressure regulator, it works via the CAN bus with the engine electronic unit. The MI-07.20 module adjusts the engine operation during gear shifting, which ensures smooth characteristics.
